Students Create Smart Poker Table

There has been a recent problem with cheating with online poker tournaments and online casinos, there is now reports of four college students from Purdue University in Indiana that have created a poker table that is cheat proof.


While this will not help with online gambling it is an innovative new addition for land-based poker, as this table these students have created keeps track of poker chips that have been placed on the poker table.


This poker table is wired, using Radio Frequency Identification technology that can track the movements of the chips that are placed on the table and each player can receive the information for this through the use of an LCD screen.


The stats of each poker game will be recorded and then placed on a website where it can be used later for reference.


The students have stated that their project was to aid in simplifying poker games and giving each player access to information about the game they are playing in, this information is posted on the web page the students are using and will later post game stats.


The table is being called the Smart Poker Table, and while it gives each poker player information about the game they are playing in by LCD screen they are also playing in a game that the table knows where their poker chips are and where they are suppose to be.
