22 Year Old Wins 2nd WSOP Circuit Event
In the second stop of the 2007/2008 World Series of Poker (WSOP) circuit tour had 22 year old Jason Potter winning a prize package worth $52,987, a gold and diamond trophy ring and a $5,000 seat in the Championship event. The riverboat, Ceasers Indiana had 668 players producing an opening prize pool among of $189,238.
The WSOP is hailed bar none as the pinnacle achievement in being named World Champion in the career of a poker player. Each stop of this year's championship offers buy-ins for the tournaments in the amounts of a few hundred dollars upwards to $5,000. The winner of each stop in the circuit tour will receive a $10,000 seat in the No-Limit Hold'em World Championship at the 2008 World Series of Poker in Las Vegas.
Jason Potter who hails from Tulsa, Oklahoma is a political science major and wants to graduate with a law degree. According to Potter, he learned to play poker by watching it on television and has been playing for five years. He reportedly tore down the final table with four players and he owned 765,000 of the 1,336,000 of the hips in play. The blinds at the table were $15,000 to $30,000 with $4,000 antes. Potter was able to abolish the last two players by seizing the final cards in play two times.
