Abolute Poker Scandal Update
Today we do things a bit differently, nowadays the law handles poker cheaters. With internet gambling the stakes are high since it is a $12 billion a year industry. And allegedly, there is still cheating going on even gambling remotely.
For instance, recently Scott Tom and A.J. Ripper are suspected of winning between $500,000 and $ 1 million by sneaking peeks at other player's digital cards. The disturbing facts are that Scott Tom is one of the owners of Absolute Poker, where the cheating supposedly took place, and A.J Ripper is a former director of operations for Absolute Poker.
The allegations come from one of the players in a high stakes tournament who asked Absolute Poker to send him the history of his card hands in that particular game. Absolute Poker sent him all the players card hands which included emails and IP addresses of all the players and while studying them came to the conclusion something just wasn't right about it and the player sent his
findings to the casino.
The gaming commission that hosts Absolute Poker has authorized an independent investigation to look in to the matter. If they find anything amiss it will be turned over to the authorities. This could lead to Absolute Poker losing its license and criminal charges for Scott Tom and A.J. Ripper.
