Britain Shows Increased Interest In Online Gambling

It seems that the British demographic is steadily accepting online gambling as the Gambling Commission, the British gambling regulator, has their survey showing that this past time is increasing in popularity among the British. These survey results also indicate that online gambling's main demographic in Britain is that of males who range in age 18 to 34.

 

This survey was outsourced by the Commission to ICM Research who took a sample of 8,000 adults in Britain and can be viewed on the Gambling Commission's website under the title ‘Survey Data on Remote Gambling Participation.'

 

Back in 2006, it was determined that approximately 7.4 percent of participants took part in any form of remote gambling. Compare this to the 2007 results that show in increase to 8.7 percent who admitted to using at least one type of remote gambling within the past month. These different types are through a computer, an interactive or digital TV, or a cellular phone.

 

This study covers all forms and areas of remote gambling with it being conducted every quarter and asks specific questions regarding gaming habits. It is asked where they accessed their gambling from, either the Internet on a laptop or PC, a cellular phone, an interactive TV, etc. Once it is determined what specific devices are used, it is asked exactly what type of gambling they are involved in such as the Lottery, casino games, or betting.
