Critics Speak Out On Internet Gambling Ban
Rep. Robert Wexler, D-Fla. Stated, "We do not prohibit betting on horse on the Internet, we do not prohibit betting on lotteries or fantasy sports. Either we prohibit it all because we are morally so offended, or we let it all be up to our personal freedoms to decide."
It has already been ruled by the World Trade Organization (WTO) that the United States and their restrictions have violated international trade rules and the U.S. may end up being forced to pay the European Union and others up to $100 billion.
Joseph Weiler, law professor at New York University and former WTO panelist, has said, "The United States is the world leader in trade matter and it leads by example. This is not a good example by which we should conduct our trade policy."
Weiler, along with many others, feel that this could actually end up to other countries going against the trade agreements without fear or reason to think twice.
