Full Tilt Sponsors World Series of Golf

Full Tilt Poker has signed on as one of the sponsors for the World Series of Golf.   This may sound a little different since they are a poker site but this isn't going to be your usual golf game either.  This is a new kind of golf series that will let each player have the option to check, raise of fold on each individual hole.

This new sponsorship partnership is going to offer strategic branding opportunities between the World Series of Golf and Full Tilt Poker.  The partnership will also include multiplatform branding opportunities such as broadband television, international media print and of course the internet.

There are going to be members of Full Tilt Poker entering into the golf series as well so we can take a look and see if their golf game is any good.  So keep an eye out for Phil Ivey, David Benyamine, Brandon Adams, Allen Cunningham, David Grey, Andy Bloch, David Oppenheim, Chris "Jesus" Ferguson and Erick Lindgren.

At the World Series of Golf each player will have to ante up before teeing off on each hole.  Then they can check, raise or fold their way to the win.  The winner from each hole will win the pot and when your out of chips your out of the game just like in poker.  Since this is the first ever World Series of Golf the organizers are still in the process of patenting the rules.

This isn't the first time that golf and poker have teamed up ESPN has a television show called High Stakes of Golf that featured poker players, Daniel Degraunu, Doyle Brunson, Phil Ivey and many more that all compete for millions of dollars on the golf course instead of on the felt.

The inaugural World Series of Golf will start on May 12th and run til May 15th at the Paiute Golf Resort in Las Vegas.  If you can't make it to Vegas to watch the action you can see it all on June 28th and 29th on CBS Sports.
