Before launching the raid, the authorities watched the game take place for about an hour. Deputies said they watched as players walked up to the door of a building on Wade Hampton Boulevard and were buzzed inside. The building also operates as a fireworks company as well as a number of other businesses. When deputies went inside, they broke into a game of "Texas Hold ‘Em". During the operation, police seized about $4,000 cash, and other poker paraphernalia.
The poker players, residents of Greer, Greenville as well as Simpsonville, are all expected to appear in court in response to the alleged violation of the local law. Hearing dates have either not been set, or disclosed at the time of the report.
