Heartland Poker Tour Announces Nationwide League

Heartland Poker Tour claims to be the first ever national poker league to spread out over the United States. HPT plans a tour beginning in September that will take place all across the country's best casinos. The league will begin in September and run through December.

The league will use a point system similar to the point system many of the US bar leagues used, to keep track of results from all the casinos that participate. At the end of the 12 weeks, each individual casino will total up the points and declare their HPT league champion. Each champ will receive a prize package worth nearly $3,000. The prize package will allow that player to participate in the Heartland Poker Tour Championship in Gary, Indiana at the Majestic Star Casino.

This is not like the usual free bar league poker tournaments that you may have noticed in your neighborhood. This is not a free poker game, most games have fairly cheap buy ins averaging about $60. 97% of the total buy ins of each tournament will go towards the prize pool. The top 1/5 of players will win cash prizes. So keep your eyes open in your local area casinos for notice of the HPT league this fall!
