Illegal Gambling in Iowa Update
With the available legal means of playing poker these days, some people continue to push the limits until they are burned. This was the case recently in Iowa, when the police arrested Tammy Louann Proulx. At the time of the arrest there was an ongoing poker cash game in her home. They seized more than 6 million dollars, a poker table, poker chips and several decks of playing cards.
According to reports, Tammy Proulx was running the illegal poker games in her home for at least nine months. The former Isle of Capri in Bettendorf Poker Room dealer has been charged with gaming and betting, keeping a gambling house and possession of a controlled substance, (the name of which has not been released, yet)
Ten additional people were arrested during the raid, which was carried out with the assistance of the Bettendorf Police Department. At the time of the raid, some of the undercover police offiers who have been on the case, monitoring the high stakes poker game for months, were awaiting the raid on scene. Of the ten arrested, nine were charged with gaming and betting, and one was charged with interference with official acts. All of them were released after being cited for the activity.
