Jaxx & AOL UK Partner For Online Sports Betting

In what is being called an unlikely partnership, the British arm of America Online and Jaxx UK Limited, a subsidiary of a major German betting company FLUXX, have teamed up to provide online sports betting to AOL UK members.

Jaxx UK will develop the odds for horse racing and other sporting venues for AOL members in the UK to place wagers on a range of events. Jaxx will also provide related editorial content and other services undisclosed at this time.

Michael Steckler, head of AOL Europe's interactive marketing, has relayed that the company is seeking to broaden their markets in the region and is considering partnership with more companies to boost regional profits.

Rainer Jacken, spokesperson for FLUXX AG, stated that the British market has yet to be untapped, and the company sees great potential in the attractive business possibilities available. FLUXX hopes to take advantage of the under-developed market in the area by teaming up with AOL UK.

A date has not been announced for the future project between these two companies, though they have worked together in the past. AOL UK and Jaxx UK partnered in 2003 to provide a lottery service that is reportedly one of Germany's highest e-commerce ventures.
