Jerry Yang to Play Pokerstars APPT

Since winning the big World Series of Pokers Main Event, Chris Moneymaker has been added to the star spotlight overnight. This is usually how it happens and normally is to be expected. However with champion Jerry Yang, that has not been the case. Yang's absence in the poker scene has been, needless to say, a little conspicuous.

Yang has yet to announce a sponsorship, which is something that would normally have already occurred with a reigning champion. He also hasn't participated in any of the 'normal' events that our major winners are involved in, such as being invited to poker invitational tournaments, or being involved in charity events, or even doing interviews for the major publications. He has also not been spotted at the felt since winning the gold.

This could all be changing however, since Yang has confirmed attending the Pokerstars APPT event in Macau, China. Over 200 online qualifiers will be joined along with Yang at the first ever poker tournament that is going to be held in the People's Republic of China.

The event is to start on November 22nd, with more than 179 players who have qualified on Pokerstars.

Already confirmed for this first time ever event are Daniel Negreanu, Barry Greenstein, Scotty Nguyen and Joe Hachem.
