Mobile Phone Meets Poker Online
The Artificial Life announced the new 3G Texas Hold'em poker game would be the first in a series of cell phone casino games being released. It confirmed the series would ultimately cover other mobile phone card and casino games and will connect the online gaming world with mobile phone gaming.
'Poker is becoming more and more popular around the world," said Eberhard Schoneburg, Chief Executive Officer of Artificial Life. "Hence, we have decided to add a sophisticated and highly animated poker game to our extensive 3G mobile game portfolio. The game is very appealing and has many new and innovative game features that will surely attract novices as well as experienced poker fans from around the globe.'
When the game is released later this year, it will have a single and multiplayer version. The game will also allow for an avatar representation of the player based on a selection of customizable 3-D animated options. During the game, the avatar will be able to perform various gestures such as shaking hands, raking in the poker chips or even throwing cards down in protest. Players will be able to compete against remote competitors either through a server or using a Bluetooth connection. This will create an interface that is streamlined and easy to navigate, giving all players the opportunity to enjoy a good game of Texas Hold'em Poker.
The ranking system of the program will allow players to achieve various levels of play, and will create virtual tables to match a player's rank in the system. This system will include private tables for the more accomplished players and even competition for the novice. It is the hope that the top players will eventually be able to receive tournament invitations and incentives.
This will be the first game of its kind for the mobile phone industry, as well as a first for the poker world. The creation of the 3G product will open the game to many players who previously have been limited by orientation to a computer. The ambition to ultimately connect mobile phone and online players in the various poker and casino software programs, demonstrates an expansion in the industry.
