Poker Debt Paid Via Rattlesnake Bites

Two men in Lakewood Colorado were apparently adamant that they were to be paid $60,000 owed to them. Willing to commit murder, or kidnap children to recoup their debt. Matthew Sowash, the owner of the Amateur Poker Tour, a bar league in Denver Colorado, owed the men 60k according to Jefferson County Sheriff Reports.

The suspects conspired to kill Sowash by placing his legs in a wooden box full of rattle snakes, the box was to be designed to allow his legs entry, but not exit. Plan B, according to police affidavits involved the kidnapping of Sowash's children as a tool for persuading the delinquent to pay up.

Herbert Beck, 56 and Lee Steelman, 34 were both arrested (Beck Wednesday, Steel Thursday) on charges of Conspiracy to commit murder.

Sowash contacted the Colorado Bureau of Investigation. Both men are being held on $500,000 bail.
