Single Mother Wins 34.5 EuroMillions Lottery

In one of the biggest news stories to hit Europe this week, 40 year old Angela Kelly has won the EuroMillions Lottery drawing, awarding GBP 34.5 million. According to BBC reports, Angela was completely "flabbergasted" when she found out she had won the colossal prize.

Apparently Angela was unaware that she had even won the EuroMillions Lottery until a few days after the drawing. The ticket remained in her handbag until she heard that no winner had come forth to claim the extravagant 34.5-million winnings. At that time, she decided it might be worth checking the ticket.

Angela Kelly is a postal worker in East Kilbride, South Lankshire who lives with her 14 year old son. Kelly stated that she will be quitting her 21k/year job at the Glasgow Post Office as the transport manager in the
sorting department.

At GBP 34.5 million, Angela's vast winnings are not the largest lottery prize awarded in UK's history. Dolores McNamara, mother of six from Limerick, Ireland, won a whopping GBP 77 million in 2005. Then in 2006, a group of three ticket holders split an even larger lottery prize of GBP 126 million.
