PokerPro System Added to Casinos in Quebec

Over the weekend it was announced that PokerTek Inc had made a deal with the Société des casinos du Québec (SCQ) that would enable the PokerTek company to install their PokerPro system in three of the province's casinos. The three casinos will now have a total of forty three PokerPro tables available for their customers. The three participating casinos are: the Casino de Montreal in Montreal, Casino de Charlevoix in LaMalbaie and the Casino du Lac-Leamy in Gatineau.

The new tables provided by PokerTek are electronic poker tables that have no dealer. The tables were designed for casinos to be able to provide Texas Hold'em without having to hire and train dealers and also create card rooms. The game progresses almost twice as fast as those with live dealers. The system can also eliminate dealer error. The quicker turnover allows more profit for the player and the casino.

"We are very excited about this project and this technology," said Alain Brosseau, SCQ gaming development project manager. "We want to offer the best poker in the most unique poker rooms in North America where customers will be treated like royalty."

This is the first time PokerTek has installed their system in Canada. It is also the site of the company's largest installation to date. The Casino de Montreal had 25 tables installed. The PokerPro tables provide Texas Hold'em Limit and No-Limit cash games. Single table and multi-table tournaments are also available for customers to enjoy.
