Dice and Cards Legal Only in Church
In South Carolina a senate committee approved a bill that would allow legalized gambling in churches, even though it isn't allowed throughout the rest of the state.
This bill would effectively make it legal for non profits, including churches to offer gambling events, including Texas hold'em and other poker games to be played to raise money for local charities.
Games that the are carved out within the bill for legalization include both seven card stud, five card stud, dice games and the ever popular Texas Holdem Poker game. The bill hasn't yet been made law, and still has quite a long way to go before being signed into law. From here the bill will be on it's way through the full senate, and then the house.
Should it pass, the bill will finally break a 200 year old ban on all gambling that includes card or dice games, giving just a bit of freedom to choose back to the community.
