Legislation to Legalize Online Poker a Possibility
Large companies that could very well be affected by current sanctions held by the United States current policies on Internet gaming, could show pressure to Congress into making changes in their current anti-online gaming views. Several panelists believe that World Trade Organization's pending sanctions concerning current United States policies of online gaming, could be the major drive for legislation to begin making changes.
Several panelists were in agreement that online poker will more than likely be legalized before the other Internet casino style games are.
With many respectable and well known gaming companies being kept off the marketplace, because of the United States ban on Internet gaming financial transactions, it has caused concern among panelists concerning players having lack of protection by poor or unregulated sites.
"I am afraid the U.S. customer today is very exposed - there's no player protection," Andre Wilsenach said, who is one of the panelists in the State of the Industry session.
