North Carolina Raised 2 Much $$ For Charity
The North Carolina charity tournament is no longer as they have apparently tried to raise too much money. One would think that raiseing a lot of money for charities would be a good thing but apperantly not.
This was to be the largest charity tournament in the nation but the general counsel for UNC decided that with already 1,000 people registered to compete for donated prizes was just too much and was legally questionable.
Last years event saw more then 500 players compete for the top prize of a big screen tv and over $12,500 was raised for Nourish International.
This anti poker victory in North Carolina comes as poker friendly forces in South Carolina appear to be making alot of progress.
They had a bill that would have overturned a 200 year old law that allows churches to raise money for charity by playing poker but it was defeated.
