Cathy Roberts Steps Her Way to WSOP

Cathy Roberts has set out on her way to win a ticket to the World Series of Poker for under $500 dollars.  The Main event entry itself is worth more than  $10,000 dollars, however, the small stakes poker playing momma believes she can get there for less than $500 USD.  That's for the seat, no airplane or bed included. 
 
She will be turning 32 next week and was born and raised in Oregon. The oregonian woman told the press this week that she's found her way into the World Series of Poker, and that she'll be rooting for other strong women, and especially mom's to make it through the PokerStars step program, and onto the big game in Vegas.
 
Roberts, a strong believer in women poker players said "This is the year that women are going to really make a splash at the World Series of Poker".  Cathy Roberts is known online as Lady4Flush, sounds pretty sure of herself, and she plans to play in the World Series of Poker. "Who knows" she said with laughter in her voice, "Maybe I'll get PokerStars to sign me. Get a deal, and be on my way."
 
Like many stay at home moms, Roberts started playing freeroll poker tournaments. She spent a few months learning the ins and outs the game before really taking it seriously.  From there she went to try those skills in a live setting to get her "game face". Roberts played a season in a small Portland bar league, she won 2nd place in the leagues quarterly tournament, and a stack of bar food certificates. 

Cathy Roberts isn't a major cash playing poker star yet but once she makes her way to the WSOP, "who knows" she says. "The world series is all about dreams and dreamers, where else can an average everyday person become a millionaire in a matter of a week?" 

On her first day on the PokerStars Step to the WSOP Circuit Roberts proved her online poker skills by pushing straight through the steps to make it to step 6 where she finished in 4th place for a   $1,000 dollar win. 

"It's frustrating to get so close and then have to start over!" Roberts told reporters, "But I WILL get to the WSOP this year" Roberts continued, "While I'm in Vegas, I'll have the time of my life, I'll root for the ladies, and hopefully, finish in the top 100. Nah," she said with a grin, "I'm gunna win it."
