Matthew Higler

Matthew Higler is a poker author, publisher and professional poker player and he has won Full Tilt Poker's $750,000 Guaranteed poker tournament on last Sunday giving him a first place prize of $132,000 dollars. 

When he was asked about playing at Full Tilt Poker he said, I've actually done very well in this particular tournament. In 9 or 10 tries this year, I have 3 top 100's, 2 final tables, and now the big win”.

Higler became popular within the online poker world when he released his best selling book, "Internet Texas Hold'em" back when online Texas Hold'em was just getting started.  Since he wrote his book he has created poker forums, an online community, read strategy articles and get exclusive poker bonuses.

Matthew is now focusing on the upcoming World Series of Poker and is happy with his recent play at Full Tilt as he has brought his poker skills and is trying them all out so his game at the WSOP won't be rusty. 

Part of his warming up also included working with Rizen, Pearljammer and Apestyles on a poker hands book that helped by being able to chat with these guys on a regular basis and he also picked up a few tricks from reviewing their manuscripts.

Higler has done well in previous World Series of Poker years he has cashed out three times of the last four years in the main event and a total of 9 times overall.  But with every year that passes there is more great talent present at the WSOP since a lot of players earn their seats by playing satellites at online poker rooms.
