888.com Announces Sports Betting

As early as this coming year, the online gaming sensation 888 may have the first element of its sports betting offering in place.

"We expect to launch in the first country by the end of this year or the beginning of next," explained Gigi Levy at the European i-Gaming conference. "The UK is our biggest market but we also have Seville."

It is also said among others that 888 may be near an announcement of a tie up with Rank's Blue Square web site which offers bets on soccer matches, horse racing, and all sorts of other sports. This will truly be a remarkable change in image for 888.com and will certainly allow them to reach a wider target audience.

With the past year showing much to do with the United States and their ban on online gambling, 888 does not want to sit back and fear prosecution by the U.S. authorities. They are looking to take charge and hold their own against their larger rivals.

"It's highly likely that there will be another deal by the end of the year," stated Levy. "It'll be something that doesn't cost much but hopefully makes a lot of money."

Of course, that is the intention and with the success 888.com already has had; it will not be a shock that this new venture will unfold great opportunities as well.
