On Wednesday, July 11th, this Jackpot reached a record breaking amount of $464,652.03 just before one lucky internet poker player by the username of CALVINHOBBES lost a hand of Quad-Aces to a Royal Flush, setting off the sirens and releasing the staggering jackpot.


With the jackpot steadily rising, Absolute Poker saw record breaking attendance Wednesday at their Bad Beat Jackpot Tables. It's not often thousands of players gather in hopes of losing, but this was a special occasion. In order to win the Bad Beat Jackpot, a player must have a hand of Quad-8's or better and still manage to lose to a higher hand.


CALVINHOBBES pocketed $162,628.21 for his loss, with another $162,628.21 divided among the other players at the table.
