PokerStars Takes Player Protection to a New Level
Any person will tell you that their personal information should remain just that, personal. Many people have problems with their personal information leaking over the internet and causing them problems. Apparently this has been the problem for many online poker sites. Players have become upset and have stated that their information has been shared without their permition. Because of this, PokerStars has taken action.
PokerStars is paving the way by listening to their customers and making changes due to the complaints. They are making it extremely difficult for an outside person to access a players personal information. They also ask each player to give permission to allow their information to be shared publicly.
"Over the past few years we have been collecting feedback from our players via e-mail and public forums on the subject of game play data privacy. The view of a large number of our players is that they do not wish their ROI and profitability to be displayed in a public or subscription based website." States Steven Winters, head of PokerStars game security.
The new rules have been put into place and any site that does not follow them will run the risk of destroying their business because PokerStars will block their access to the card site. Also players will have to ask to receive any information on their profits. This giant step taken by PokerStars will not only be helpful to players but also the many different poker sites. Privacy is important and PokerStars have taken the precautions to provide better security for its players.
