UltiamateBet Cheating Scandal

It is a popular opinion that after the first case of cheating the Kahnawake Gambling Commission and online poker rooms handled the situation poorly.  In this cheating scandal they are now taking a stand and showing a united front.

Earlier this year on January 12th, UltimateBet learned of a poker players who's numbers didn't make sense.  NioNio, a player on the website was showing irregular winnings.  There were suggestions that a player shouldn't have had such high numbers unless they were playing unfairly. 

This started to sound firmiliar to the case at Absolute Poker where some of the players were accessing their opponents hole cards.  These two cases still have more in common, in both cases it wasn't the software or security that showed the cheating but the hight stakes poker players themselves.

There is also an unamed expert in that is mentioned in the UltimateBet press release and players want to know why the expert isn't being released.  Only one account has been flagged in the new cheating allegations, the account held by Nionio.

UltimateBet says, “UltimateBet is determined to complete a full and thorough investigation. We pride ourselves on providing a safe, secure playing environment for our customers. The investigation has proven to be extremely complex and, therefore, has been more extensive and taken much longer than initially expected. We continue to aggressively pursue the matter and will communicate the findings of our full investigation to our regulatory authority and to our customer base as soon as practicable".
