The Golden Nugget and Phil Ivey are getting ready to host the Budding Ivey Foundation Charity Poker Tournament on Tuesday July 1st at 8pm. Celebrity tournament director Matt Savage will be emceeing the No Limit Texas Hold'em event that will be held in the Golden Nugget's event center.
The event is being sponsored by Curtis and Co. Watches and one hundred percent of the proceeds will be going to benefit the Budding Ivey Foundation. The participants in the poker tournament are going to be invited to attend the Sixth Annual World Series of Barbecue (WSOB08) sponsored by Steve Z and Howard & Suzie Lederer that starts at 6:00pm at the Tank.
"This fundraiser will primarily benefit the Empowered 2 Excel Academy in North Las Vegas," said Ivey. "Their doors were recently closed due to a lack of funds. We are determined to open those doors again for the kids in that community. The Golden Nugget has been very accommodating," added Ivey. "This is definitely the place you want to be on July 1."
To help get players to the Golden Nugget there is going to be complimentary shuttle and limousine service provided by the Las Vegas Transportation company that will be picking up players from the rear entrance of the Rio All Suites Hotel and Casino from 5pm to 12am.
The Phil Ivey Charity Poker Tournament will begin at 8pm and there is going to be a Budding Ivey Game Night Celebration and a Guitar Hero exhibition by Evelyn Ng at 8pm. A Guitar Hero competition will follow where the winner will be getting two tickets to Disneyland.
There is also going to be a chess tournament put on by Chess Grand Master Roman Dzindzichasvili who will be challenging guest to try and best him throughout the night and all proceeds will help benefit the Budding Ivey Foundation.
