ECOOP at Titan Poker Has Champion

The largest online poker site on the iPoker Network crowned the ECOOP $1 million GP Main Event champion.  Luke Cahill from Manchester, England took the honor along with the $220,000 first place prize money.

ECOOP touted $2,500,000 in the total prize pool for this online poker ten-day event.  992 players entered the 1000+$60 Texas Hold'em No Limit Freezeout Main Event tournament which was the climax of the series.

The main event took 12 hours to complete and according to Cahill, "I was awake all night," but as to his stamina for the event, I wasn't as tired as I should have been towards the end," he said shortly after winning.

Did experience matter? Maybe not so much, Luke had never previously played a Titan Poker tournament. He said, "Recently I decided to try playing tournaments. I only heard about the ECOOP Main Event the day before." Now his goals is to play a lot more tournaments and try to satellite his way into a big land based tournament in the future.

Cahill's tournament strategy is simple to follow, he says its "knowing which cards to start with, waiting for the good hands, and playing those."

Even though he admits he plays just a few hours at a time at the cash tables, it looks like you may see more of Luke Cahill in the future.
