EPT Dublin Starts Today

One of the best events on the circuit is making its annual stop in Dublin. The European Poker Tour has everyone that will be playing, wanting to try their hands at the luck of the Irish.

The Merrion Casino Club Royal Dublin Society will be hosting this years festivities and it will run from October 30 to November 3. This year will have a new larger buy-in set at €7,700+€300 with plenty of space to accommodate 600 poker players.

Just before the final table on November 3, this years tournament also includes Padraig Parkinson's annual Simon Community Charity tournament, at 2 p.m. One-third of the buy-in for this tournament will go directly Dublin's Simon Community for homeless people. Nearly €50,000 was raised for the charity was raised last year.

This will mark the fourth time the EPT has come to Dublin. In the first season, Ram Vaswani won the tournament and Mats Gavatin winning it the second year. In last years win, outlasting 388 other players, Roland de Wolfe took home an enormous €554,300 after beating David Tuvernier in a heads-up play.

Being Ireland's largest city, Dublin is famous for its landmarks like the Guinness Storehouse, Trinity College and Dublin Castle.
