Jeff Lisandro Wins Second WSOP Bracelet
Event #16 of the WSOP saw Jeff Lisandro in the chip lead going into final table play. Competition would be fierce with several bracelet winners and top poker pros sitting at the table wanting the title win. But Lisandro would be able to hold on and take down the win which resulted in his second WSOP bracelet of his career.
Two players at the final table had won more than one WSOP bracelet and they would prove to be tough competition. John Juanda and Rod Pardey were sitting right behind Lisandro in chips but Juanda couldn’t get the cards he needed and he would be knocked out in fifth place.
Lisandro gained a good deal of chips after he knocked out Juanda so it would take him into heads up play after Nick Frangos and Steve Stencil were eliminated in fourth and third place respectively.
Pardey and Lisandro would then begin heads up play with Lisandro holding a 4 to 1 chip lead. Pardey did all he could but he lost the final hand when Lisandro held an ace high diamond flush. Pardey would have won his third bracelet but apparently it was time for Lisandro to earn his second.
