Julien Nuijten Wins 1st Event in the LAPT
The first stop in the first year of the Latin American Poker Tour was in Rio and it drew in 314 players that all payed the $2,500 dollar buyin to compete in the tournament. The event lasted for three exciting days of play at the inaugural event and then finally the winner was crowned. Julien Nuijten came in first place getting him $222,940 dollars for his first place finish.
Nuijten proved to be a force to be reckoned with at the final table where he started as the chip leader and then proceeded to take out four of his final tablists to win the title. This is his first and largest international poker tournament cash for the 19 year old Dutch poker player.
The results of the final table were; Julien Nuijten in first place with $222,940 dollars, followed by Vitaly Kovyazi in second place with $117,750 in cash. Nikolai Senninger took third place with $86,800 dollars, in fourth place was Alex Brenes with a $62,800 dollar win, fifth place went to Eduardo Henriques with $47,100 dollars.
Oliver Kugler finished in sixth place with $31,400 dollars, Rafael Pardo went out in seventh place with $23,550 dollars, Juan Carlos Burguillos finished in eighth place with a $15,700 dollar win and Severin Walser was the ninth place finisher with $11,775 dollars.
The Latin American Poker Tour is now headed to San Jose, Costa Rica for the next event that will start on May 22nd.
