Justin Bonomo Wins WSOP Circuit Event
Yesterday the final sixteen players returned to the World Series of Poker Circuit Caesars Las Vegas event to see who would make the final table. Each player would earn a nice payday but they all wanted to be the last one standing. Fortunately for Justin Bonomo, the day would be his as he would beat Michael Mizrachi in heads up play.
It took only an hour and half to get to final table play and in just short of four hours Bonomo and Mizrachi would begin heads up play. Both were not ready to give up the win and it would take more than four hours for a winner to be decided.
The chip lead went back and forth from each player before Bonomo gained the final lead. On the last hand Bonomo’s K-Q would hold up and gain him the victory. Mizrachi would earn $143,512 for second place while Bonomo won $227,692 plus a seat to the 2009 WSOP Main Event.
Bonomo commented on the tournament stating: “It felt like I was playing him for ages. Mizrachi played great. It was a brutal match. Playing heads-up was really exhausting. Every hand I played put me in a tough decision. That made it even more difficult. So, to win this event makes it all the more meaningful to me to have earned it this way.”
