Mid South Poker Classic Starts May 15th

The Cherokee Casino Resort is going to kick off thier first Mid South Poker Classic on Thursday, May 15th.  This is going to be second of three major tournaments that will be held there this year.  The casino has been working on establishing their poker room's reputation as a place to play some serious poker and since Scotty Nguyen is a resident poker player there it has been going well.

This will be the casino's first Mid South Poker Classic and they are expecting a lot of the skilled players from the region and beyond to participate.  The Mid South Poker Classic will last for 12 days and will begin with the popular Jack and Jill event and a final table players tournament will play on Memorial Day, May 26th.

In all there will be 20 events in the Poker Classic including,  No Limit Hold 'em, Limit Hold 'em, Omaha High/Low Split, a Senior and Ladies No Limit Hold 'em, No Limit Hold 'em 6-Handed and Pot Limit Omaha.  Buy ins for the events start out at $100 dollars and the highest is $1,000 dollars so players with different tastes and bankrolls can find their game at the Mid South Poker Classic.

A popular event is the Budweiser Celebrity Poker Classic where sports celebs and poker pros will play to benefit the Tulsa Sports Charities.  The Event is on May 18th at 7pm and the buyin will be $120 dollars.  The Mid South Poker Classic will end in the Championship No Limit Hold'em Main Event on Sunday, May 25th at 1pm.
