Event # 23 in the World Championship of Online Poker was a no-limit holdem event that concluded the WCOOP tournament series. The tournament had a $5 million guaranteed prize pool and a buy-in of $2,500 plus a $100 entry fee. Many more players entered the tournament than expected so the prize pool went soaring up to an amazing $7,495,000. Several top named players made it far in the tournament but didn't make it to the final table.

A member of Team PokerStars did make it to the final table and her name is Vanessa "LadyMaverick" Rousso. When she first got to the final table she had the shortest stack while the chip leader Mpg1000 held $18.8 million in chips. After the first elimination LadyMaverick began to pull in chips so she was no longer in danger. Out of the nine people who sat down at the final table, five would be eliminated early on and that would leave LadyMaverick, ka$ino and TheV0id.

LadyMaverick held her on but would soon be defeated in heads up play. She held two pair during one hand and got called all in by ka$ino who got a spade on the river giving him a flush. LadyMaverick was out in third place with a prize of $463,941. Now it's down to two. Ka$ino was in the chip lead with about 75% of the chips. The Void eventually evened the playing field which left each player with about $30 million chips.

While the stacks were even the players agreed to set aside $150,000 from the first place prize to go toward the second place prize. With this deal in place, the first place finisher would now take home the biggest tournament pay day in PokerStar history. Play had gone on for twenty two hours before the final hand which went like this:

The VOid chose to raise preflop so ka$ino reraised, then the VOid went all in so ka$ino called. ka$ino held ace club and king diamond while the VOid held king spade queen heart. The flop was jack heart, ten spade, three clubs. The turn card was a three of diamonds so it paired the board. The river came a nine of spades giving the VOid a straight and the win.

The Final Standings:

TheV0id - $1,228,330.50
ka$ino - $850,782.50
Vanessa "LadyMaverick" Rousso - $463,940.50
HelmetSky - $382,245
mpg1000 - $307,295
nitbuster - $232,345
E-Daddie - $163,391
mao15 - $103,431
