Vikidin Wins PokerStars $1.5 Million Guaranteed Tournament

Weekend poker tournaments at the top online poker rooms are very popular including those at PokerStars. Players can compete each week for their share of large guaranteed prizes and this past weekend it was online player Vikidin who won the $1.5 million guaranteed Sunday tournament at PokerStars.

The tournament had 6,990 competitors and Vikidin managed to outlast them all. The tournament usually sees over 7,000 so PokerStars had to add a little cash to meet the large guarantee. The top 1,080 players were paid out in the tournament so everyone was trying to finish at the top of the list.

Eight players made the final table as two were knocked out before the final table players were decided. Vikidin was not sitting at the final table with a large chip stack but he slowly began to gain chips from other players until he held the highest stack.

Heads up play finally began between Vikidin and unfadeable1. Both players struck a deal that would see Vikidin earn $190,000 and unfadeable1 earning $170,000. This would leave $30,555 for the eventual winner.

When heads up play began both players were playing stiffly but Vikidin managed to gain a larger lead. On the final hand Vikidin took out unfadeable1 and won $220,555 for his efforts. Unfadeable1 earned just the $170,000 for second place.
