WPT World Poker Challenge Winner Lee Markholt
The World Poker Challenge finished up in Reno on Friday with Lee Markholt being declared champion of the $7,500 buyin championship event. The victory at the World Poker Tour was his first tournament win since April of 2005 when he won the Professional Poker Tour event at the Five Star Poker Classic.
The first place win got him $493,815 dollars in cash and 238 Bluff Magazine Player of the Year points. Bryan Devonshire came in second with $271,625 dollars.
Third place went to Zachary Hyman who was the chip leader during various stages of the tournament. Zachary Hyman took home $149,862 dollars for his third place finish.
The top three players first sat down at the final table trailing behind Jason Potter in chips but he couldn't hold on to his chip lead and went out in fourth place for, $103,000 dollars.
