WSOP Goes Environmentally Green!
I believe it is safe to say that most poker tables are green. However, the tables at this years world series of poker are more green than green. EGM green has launched a new kind of poker table at this years WSOP. Environmentally green.
The table's are to be featured in the WSOP exhibit area at the Rio in Vegas. A Harrah's representative as well as Representatives from EGM Green are available on location and will be sharing with you the value in going green when it comes to poker tables. In addition to the millions won from the WSOP prize pool, EGM Green will be awarding one of these environmentally sound poker tables to this years champion.
Eric Hansel of EGM told reporters that he is "pleased that Harrah's has chosen to debut the table at the WSOP" as the President of EGM Hansel went on saying; "EGM Green is positioned to help drive sustainable change by offering green products developed for casinos."
So what you may ask makes these tables so green, aside of course from the felt lain on top of them? EGM Green tables are said to be made of 98% sustainable materials. The tables are built using only Forestry Stewardship Council certified wood. The paint and stains used in making the tables is all free of nasty things such as formaldehyde.
Formaldehyde has been classified as a human carcinogen (cancer-causing substance) by the International Agency for Research on Cancer and as a probable human carcinogen by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency.
Research studies of workers exposed to formaldehyde have suggested an association between formaldehyde exposure and cancers of the nasal sinuses, nasopharynx, and brain, and possibly leukemia. - Cancer.gov
