Binions Sold to TLC Casino Enterprises

The 2007 WSOP is underway. Every day brings poker players closer to the first day of the 2007 World Series of Poker Main Event, July 6th. The 38th annual World Series of Poker will change the lives of some, crush the dreams of others, and make millionaires of an elite few.

The first World Series of Poker game, played in 1971, more than 30 years ago was organized by Jack Binion and made history. The final legs of the tournament are still played at Binion's Gambling Hall and Hotel to date. On June 27th, MTR Gaming Group announced a clearly defined agreement to sell Binion's for $32 Million to TLC Casino Enterprises. TLC Casino Enterprises currently owns the Four Queens Hotel and Casino located in Las Vegas Nevada.

MTR Gaming has owned Binion's sense it's purchase from Harrah's in 2004. The $20 Million deal left Harrah's with the rights to the WSOP. Harrah's originally obtained ownership of Binion's casino through purchase from Becky Binion Behnen.
