WSOP Event No. 24 Winner Max Pescatori
Event No. 24 of the World Series of Poker was a $2,500 buyin Half Pot Limit Omaha and Half Pot Limit Texas Hold'em tournament that started on June 12th and finished up on June 14th. This event had 457 people enter in creating a $1,051,100 dollar prize pool of which the top 45 finishers in the tournament would see.
When the World Series of Poker started including "mixed game" events they showed they were popular events in the WSOP so they are including more such events to draw in players. This was the first time that such an event was included on the WSOP schedule after a similar event held last year was quite successful.
The winner of the event was Max Pescatori, from Milan, Italy. This player spends more time in Las Vegas then at his home in Europe and regularly appears on the American Poker Tournament Circuit. For his fist place finish he got $246,509 dollars and his second WSOP gold bracelet. So far during his career he has cashed 17 times at the World Series of Poker.
“The joy (of this win) can never be the same as winning my first one when Italy won the World Cup,” Pescatori said in a post-tournament interview. “The first bracelet is always the best one. But this second win is also important because it is the confirmation of skill. This serves to affirm to myself and gives me confidence that I am pretty good.”
