WSOP Event No. 43 Winner Martin Klaser

Event No. 43 of the World Series of Poker was a $1,500 buyin Pot Limit Omaha High Lo Split tournament that began on June 24th with 720 players and ended on June 26th with the winner.  This event had a $982,000 dollar prize pool of which the top 72 finisher in the tournament would cash.

This was the largest turnout so far as it topped last year's turnout of 687 people by five percent.  This was only the second time that a Pot Limit High Low Split tournament has been on the World Series of Poker schedule.  The game made its debut last year as a gold bracelet event.

The winner was Martin Klaser, a 21 year old student and aspiring professional poker player from Rheinbach, Germany.  He is off to a good start with this win and he has also placed in some of the European Poker events as well.  He is now one of the youngest WSOP gold bracelet winners but there were at least five other winners that were younger then him.

Klaser won $216,249 dollars for his first place finish.  That was his first year at the WSOP since he is only 21 and this was the third event he has played in.  At the end of this event there are now twenty five players that have earned at least $500,000 dollars at this year's WSOP.
