Fantasy Springs Installs Automated Poker Tables
The Fantasy Springs Resort Casino's poker room looked a little different to players that were there for an afternoon Texas Hold'em Tournament. The game still had the usual poker chatter and drinks but a few things were definately missing.
Last month, Fantasy Springs took out their original eight traditional poker tables and replaced them with five new ten seat tables that have automated touch screens where players still bet against one another and can see their new virtual cards.
There isn't going to be any more time wasted waiting on shuffling and players will have to move fast as they now only 40 seconds to decide what move to make. The change in tables has got players not paying attention to their opponents but instead their staring at the screen to see if their going to fold, call or raise.
The change in tables affected 17 people that work at the casino, one left to work at another casino and the remaining 16 went to other live table games or stayed in the poker room to oversee tournaments and act as cashiers.
