Marcus Gustafson Wins Mini Cooper & Trip
Many professional poker players and amateurs were in Las Vegas recently trying their hand at the World Series of Poker and Marcus Gustafson was one of them while he didn't cash at any of the events he didn't walk away empty handed either.
On July 2nd, Betfair Poker's professional players Annette Obrested, John Tabatabai and Sorel Mizzi all helped to fill up a red Mine Cooper full of poker chips. The car was parked outside of the World Series of Poker Europe Lounge and after more then an hour they had finally filled it to the roof with poker chips.
After both the Mini Cooper and the chips were safely secured and the number of chips inside was verified visitors of the Rio could then try to guess how many chips were inside to try and win the car.
Betfair Poker said in a press release, "While some people tried to bribe Betfair staff as to the number of chips, others used a more scientific approach, measuring the width of an average chip as well as enquiring about the internal volume of the car".
According to Betfair Poker there were rumors that Amarillo Slim had hired his own Mini and then filled it with poker chips to try to come up with the answer. But Marcus Gustafson came the closest in the end with his guess of 127,644 chips which was within three of the correct number.
So not only will be driving his new Mini Cooper he also won a VIP prize package to the WSOPE as well. The VIP package will include his $10,000 dollar buyin for the Main Event plus travel and accommodation expenses.
