WSOP Hires New Communications Director
The World Series of Poker recently hired a new Communications Director for the Sports and Entertainment division as well as the WSOP itself. Harrah's Entertainment picked Seth Palansky for the job. Palansky has worked for the NFL Network for the past five years overseeing the corporate communications for the NFL.
Gary Thompson is the former Communications Director and has now been moved to Director of Corporate Communications for Harrah's. Beginning in early March, Palansky will take on his new role and will be working under Jeffrey Pollack the Commissioner of the WSOP. Pollack is also the VP of Sports and Entertainment for Harrah's.
Pollack stated that he feels Palansky has an extensive amount of experience in the sports and entertainment marketing field and has a person network of contacts that will be beneficial for the Company. Palansky has stated that he is looking forward to joining the WSOP team and that he cannot wait to get started.
Before working with the NFL, Palansky worked in media relations with Fox Sports Net managing fifteen regional cable networks. With his hiring, Palansky will be the second NFL employee to join the WSOP. The residing Director of Sponsorship and Licensing, Ty Stewart, worked for the NFL for eight years prior to his hiring at WSOP.
