WinStar Tournament to be Aired on "The River"
WinStar Casino offers $5 million dollars in a guaranteed cash prize pool and a chance to create or further a television career has celebrities and some of the world's best poker and blackjack players headed to the Texoma Region.
WinStar Casino is going to be hosting the WinStar World Champions Series of Poker and Blackjack. The satellite tournaments are now airing and they have been picked up by the ABC network. The casino has a in house television studio that is located in the Showplace Theater and the series will have a week long final that will start on August 16th and will run til the 23rd at the casino.
The two sperate multi month tournaments will get a tv show that will be dedicated to the telling of the back stories of the layers of drama at the tables.
Brian Campbell, CEO for the Division of Commerce of the Chicksaw Nation that runs the casino, said in a press release, “WinStar Casinos has gained an excellent reputation in recent years through its Red River Roundup Poker Tournaments so we are well known now in the poker industry. We’ve attracted World Series of Poker stars Greg Raymer, David Williams and T.J. Cloutier with our purses and prizes. But these two new tournaments take us to a whole new level of excitement and exposure to a broader audience."
Production crews will be at the casino to video all of the participants. The Division of Commerce Marketing Department created a TV show that is called "The River" and it will cover the personalities and plays during the WinStar poker tournament. Another show called "The Split" will highlight the tricks and traits of those that are lucky to move up in the WinStar Blackjack tournament.
