2008 Irish Open Schedule Announced
The 2008 Irish Open schedule was announced today by Paddy Power Poker. The website announced the full timetable for the tournament which includes side events, satellites and of course the Main Event. The tournament will begin with the first event on March 19th and continue until March 24th.
The side events for the Irish Open include five events. A Main Event Super Satellite will take place on the 19th with a buy-in of €300 plus €30. The Ladies NLH Freezeout will take place on the 21st with a buy-in of €300 plus €30. There will also be a two day €1,500 NLH Freezeout that will take place on the 22nd. The buy-in for this event is €1,500 plus €150. The last two side events will be a Pot Limit Omaha Rebuy on the 23rd and a NLH Double Chance Scalp event on the 24th.
The Main Event for the Irish Open will be a €3 Million Guaranteed event and can hold 1,000 players. The event will begin with two starting days to accommodate the players expected. The first day of the Main Event will be on March 20th and the second day will be March 21st. The blind structure has changed for the Main Event this year. There have been more levels added and the starting chip stack will be 10,000 chips. Blinds will go up every hour.
Players can qualify for the Main Event on the Paddy Power Poker website. The site will be holding Super Satellites every week. They are also having Re-buy Super Satellites .A full schedule is available on the site. The packages that can be won are worth $8,500.
