888.com Launches World Poker Crown

888.com has announced the launch of the World Poker Crown (WPC), this is going to be company's first and largest ever global poker tournament with a guaranteed prize pool of over $3 million dollars. There is also going to be a $1 million dollar price for the person that takes the Word Poker Crown title and a real World Poker Crown.

The WPC is going to start on February 20th and will run until May 10th.  Anyone can enter into the WPC to win the million and become the first to wear the crown.  Also 10 percent of players that participate in the WPC will win a share of the $3 million dollar prize pool.

Players can buyin directly to the $3 million main event for $1,000+$50 or by playing online poker satellite qualifiers for a much lower buyin of $1.10+$0.50 and higher. 

The top 8 players are going to receive entry in the final event that is also going to be televised.  The World Poker Crown Main Event is going to be held in Barcelona, Spain from May 6th through the 10th.   
 
The top 8 will also get free transportation to the main event no matter where they live, accommodations at a 5 star hotel for the duration of the main event and all for two so players can bring a guest.

The televised main event will be broadcasted on Sky Sports 2 on May 12th. 888.com's marketing director, Matt Robinson said "The WPC is a very exciting new poker tournament and the biggest we have ever offered players.
