Celebrities to Attend 2008 Canadian Poker Open

It was announced today that HeadsUp Entertainment had confirmed many celebrities and poker pros would be in attendance this year at the 2008 Canadian Open Poker Championships. The event is scheduled to begin on March 5th and continue until the 9th in Calgary. The Deerfoot Inn and Casino will be the host of this year's event.

Expected to attend are: Greg Mueller, Mel Judah, Huck Seed, Brad Booth, Jennifer Tilly, Antonio Esfandiari, Phil Laak and many more. The event will be recorded and televised internationally. The event will air in six one hour episodes and will be hosted by Adam Schwartz and Bart Hanson.

CEO and president of HeadsUp Entertainment Inc, Kelly B. Kellner stated: "We are extremely pleased with the response from international players participating in our event". The 2008 Canadian Open Poker Championship has estimated they will have over $1.3 million prize pool. The tournament will have several events including: $500 Freezeout Charity event, Main event $5000 heads up, $1500 Short handed, $1000 Freezeout and $500 Freezeout. The charity event will benefit Breast Cancer.
