Everest Poker is celebrating a record turnout during their first year of sponsoring the Annual World Series of Poker in Las Vegas.  Earlier this year on March 5th Everest Poker and Harrah's Entertainment Inc. signed a multi year agreement that included satellite tournament rights and strategic brand placement at the WSOP.

At this year's WSOP they saw a record breaking 58,720 people participate in the World Series of Poker.  It was also the richest so far with a total prize pool that reached $180,676,248 dollars.  This made the Everest Poker sponsored World Series of Poker the richest event in all sports.

They made poker accessible to amateurs and experiences players from all over the world.  The new agreement between Everest Poker and Harrah's sealed the deal for the WSOP to attract a record number of non-American players by associating themselves with a popular European poker room.

There were players from 24 European countries that attended this year's event and Everest Poker helped out by offering their European players by offering satellites into 28 side events and seats for the Main Event.  There were 130 Everest Poker players that attended the WSOP this year and four of them hit the money.

Voitto Rintalla is a rock star from Finland and a Team Everest member.  He made the final table of Event 39 and won $57,000 dollars. Daan Slutter is from Enchlade in Holland and he managed to cash twice in the WSOP.  Making the last 600 of the 6,800 entrants for the Main Event and taking home $31,000 dollars. Wooka Kim, Team Everest's Japanese player also made the money at the Main Event coming in at 530th place and winning $25,000.

The man that made it the furthest was Sylvain Coeur who made it to 140th place in the WSOP's Main Event.  This was his first time ever at a live tournament and he qualified for his seat at the Everest Poker and ended up winning $41,816 dollars.

Another first at this year's World Series of Poker was the Everest Poker Hospitality Lounge.  This was an exclusive area only for the press and players.  It featured a fully equipped press corner that was available to over 80 journalists who conducted interviews in the Lounge.  The Lounge also welcomed 1,000 players between June 19th and July 12th with drinks, snacks and more to make everyone comfortable in between playing at the felts.

"Being sponsor of the WSOP further underlines Everest Poker's weight as a key influencer of the poker industry" commented Jennifer Joyce, Chief Marketing Officer for Everest Poker. "By making poker accessible to amateurs and experienced players from across the globe, we are changing the face of the poker industry."
